How to use Screaming Frog to Validate Google Webmaster 404 errors redirects

Here is a great resource to help you validate if your webmaster fixed Google webmaster reported 404 errors.
- Download Screaming Frog software and of course run it.
- Go to “Mode”
- Select “List”
- Click “Upload List”
- Select “From A File”
- Upload the error list you have downloaded from Google Webmaster Tools.
- Hit “Start:
- Click the tab that says “Response codes”
- Filter by Client Error (4xx)
- Anything that is in that column STILL needs to be redirected because it is STILL turning up a 404 error.
- If there are no items listed, then finally everything has been taken care of.
